The Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler of GEA Maschinenkühltechnik is the latest development for emission reduction. The EGR cooler complements the existing exhaust gas recirculation with the aim to reduce NOx emissions (within the engine) and therefore to meet the emission guidelines according to IMO, TIER, EURO, etc. By recirculation of the cooled exhaust gas in the combustion chamber the combustion temperature in addition to the conventional EGR system is furhter reduced and formation of NOx emissions effectively minimized. No operating materials are necessary and design can be carried out according to customer specifications.

The Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler meets difficult requirements like high temperature (up to 700 degree Celsius), sulfurous exhaust gas as well as sooty particle contamination.
The cooler is available in two types:
